Key Stats:

Annual consumption – 62’000 kWh

Electricity generated from solar PV system – 22’485 kWh

Solar PV self-consumption – 18’963 kWh

Grid electricity independence – 30.59%

Tons of avoided CO2 – 6

Uplands support Lifeskills Learning for Living

Uplands support Lifeskills Learning for Living

As part of our commitment to having a positive impact on our local communities, this year we became a key corporate partner for the organisation ‘Lifeskills’ in Bristol.

The organisation aims to support and educate those most vulnerable to injury, working with junior school children through to adults with learning disabilities.

It is interactive and offers an exciting and memorable environment in which to learn, partaking in activities within their realistic scenarios.

Our involvement has been continual throughout the year, providing a ‘live’ building environment scenario in which children learn about site awareness / falling from heights, and road crossing awareness when approaching building sites. We have worked with one of our clients, The Co-op, to install a ‘self-scan’ machine within the existing food store environment, to assist adults with learning difficulties.

WWT Estuary Tower Hide

We’ve an exciting new project in progress for WWT (Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust) who’ve commissioned us to install a new bird-watching tower at their reserve in Slimbridge.

Slimbridge comprises some 800 hectares of pasture, reed bed, lagoon and salt marsh. Many water birds live there all year round, with others migrating on their way to and from their summer breeding grounds. Some birds over-winter, including large numbers of white-fronted geese and increasing numbers of Bewick’s swans.
