Tesco Concept Store Development

2017 saw Uplands deliver a Trial store remodel for Tesco to showcase their new concepts.

Innovative design concepts on service departments and fresh food areas were implemented through a fast-paced programme of six weeks of enabling works and a two-week closure period.

A marquee was erected in the car park to minimise non-food disruption through the phased period, whilst simultaneously removing the DotCom offer from the store to make way for a new integrated Click+Collect offer.

All fixtures and cases were replaced including 100mm gravity-fed drainage, also involved a full plant replacement as the refrigeration was moved to a CO2-based system.

As with all trial schemes, change management and attention to detail in the planning stages were both paramount. The team worked very closely with client stakeholders and suppliers to deliver the scheme on time and within budget.
